Finally, it was time for eighties week on ‘American Idol’ season 7. The remaining 8 guys kicked asset off, fighting for 6 spots in the top 12.
And Is it just me or does Ryan’s face look really mysterious? Too much eye shadow just aboutmething.

Tiff: Luke Menard was first tonight with “Wake Me Up Before You Go, Go.” In my opinion, very bad song choice. I accede with Simon, it came off as cheesy. But, he was energetic. If he makes it another week, I’ll be dismayed.
Kim: Oh lad. I can’t trust someone would be speechless enough to elect THAT song, primarily in the most pivotal week even now. I guess he’s just trying to say “hey! look at me! I like quirky songs and I can pull them off!” FAIL.
Let’s just hope Simon’s words don’t come back to haunt him (and the recess of us), reverse psychology manner. You always memorize what occurred with Melissa McGhee, don’t you?

Tiff: David Archuleta chose “In The Air Tonight,” which was an amusing song alternative, but I thought it worked. He also played piano in the starting, which gave the song a haunting feel, if it weren’t haunting enough yet. He was a little pitchy in a few parts, but I really liked the performance.
Kim: Your mind is some location else Tiff, it was “Another Day In Paradise” (same artist). Okay, I absolutely LOVED this, and I wasn’t really lovin’ David last week though I know I’m in the vast minority when I say this. It was a very amazing and inspired song choice. And I like that he didn’t sing it exactly like the record, and I loved the piano playing (although I would’ve accepted he had stayed at the piano, like Simon said). He showed a morsel more ARTISTRY this week and that was major; now we see that he’s not just distinct over grown parade kid, a la Jordin.

Tiff: Danny Noriega emulated with “Tainted Love,” which is like a mind virus [the song.] His vocal was OK, but I thought he sounded like he was singing too deep afresh, just like last week. I thought his violet emo streaks were cute, but the viewpoint was a little much every once in a while. He prompted me of that Brenda girl from a few years ago…. not good.
Kim: Well I thought this was probably the most ENTERTAINING representation of the night! Vocally, he can do better. I still loved it whereas! And lol at idea virus. That pretty much amounts it up.

Tiff: Dave Hernandez sang “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now,” which is a song I’ve all liked. I likewise liked his vocal because I thought it did well showing off his voice. He was a little sharp in spots, but I liked it overall. And, as for the likelihood of a disqualification due to the truth he supposedly went as a stripper…. If they didn’t hit Antonella off, I don’t think they could hit him off. But, whether they had been playing fair, they ought have kicked Antonella off on the sole root they kicked Frenchie off for a very similar thing. In other words, opportunities are, he’s residing, and that’s a good thing in this case.
Kim: I don’t think this was the right song for him. Thankfully, he has such a good voice that he can drag of all but anything, but someone with more conscience would’ve given him the home run he really needed this week. It was pretty, it was good but it wasn’t large.
And the whole stripper thing…I’ve understood about it as a pair of months and I really didn’t think it was newsworthy (trust me, there’s aggravate filth on other idols that will bring an end to … eventually). But that’s more of an incentive to VOTE people. Don’t make him work behind to SELLING HIS BODY ON THE STREET! SAVE THE STRIPPER!!
Also, just so people know, this song was originally done along Meatloaf in the 80s and Celine’s edition was a cover.

Tiff: Michael Johns chose “Don’t You (Forget About Me)” from ‘The Breakfast Club.’ I muse he’s a agreeable actor, and I like his voice. I think he’s definitely Michael Hutchens-esque.
Kim: This was good, and definitely better than final week. But for 3 weeks immediately he’s gone on stage and has variety of done the same entity, whereas other people are taking hazards and changing it up, so he’s really no standing out as many as he used to. BUT I don’t really appreciative Simon trying to say he’s counterfeit rock just for he’s just not a purse shackle dressing “rawk” caricature (which you pretty much must be on this show). But Simon is just slow tonight anyways.

Tiff: David Cook took the biggest risk of the night with a totally modern, rock take on Lionel Richie’s “Hello.” I loved it. The guitar, the preparation, the vocal, I thought it was great. Randy Cartier, Paula, and Simon thought it could be a song on the radio now. And, Simon said he “loved it.”
Kim: All I’m gonna say is David better disc this and loosen it before DAUGHTRY does and passes it off as their own *lame drum solo*.
Okay, I lied, I’m going to say more. I was SHOCKED while I heard he chose this song, and for I minute I thought they mingled him up with David A. I’ve been ambitioning something to sing this song on the show always, but I didn’t expect to hear it like that! But seriously, I love, love, LOVE while contestants take risks like this and truly make a song their own. This is the second time he’s done that; if you query me, it didn’t work the premier time but he buffet a home run this week, for sure
ETA: Maybe I was right with that DAUGHTRY approximation??

Tiff: Jason Castro had to go and select an of my preference songs of all time, “Hallelujah,” which is originally by Leonard Cohen, but is perhaps better known by Jeff Buckley (both brilliant,) and has been covered by innumerable others over the years. I’ll confess that I loved it solely on the rule that the song choice was …. yes. I don’t think his was the best cover ever, but the choice in itself scored points with me. And does anyone else think he favors Zach Braff, sans the terrors?
Kim: Yes, it’s ALL of our favorites of all time. I was expecting to really love this when I heard the song choices but despite the song choice, it was just so so to me. It’s difficult when you cover a song that has been covered so numerous times in so numerous surprising ways (Rufus Wainright is my personal favorite). I didn’t a standing ovation his phrasing or pacing and all the affection he put into it felt coerced. It wasn’t wrong though. He’ll get by on people creature impressed by his song choice.
Man, I really wanted Brooke to sing this….

Tiff: Closing the show tonight was Chikezie. And suspect what? I didn’t get to hear it. Sad. I don’t know what he sang or what the magistrates said. My local station put along a weather warning, and when they did, they hack the sound. It happened in the middle of Luke’s performance too, but I didn’t want to hear him, so that didn’t material. So, I’ll leave it to Kim for the feedback on his performance.
Kim: Oh male I would’ve been SO crazy if they had done that to me! Well he sang “All The Woman That I Need” and I appear to be the merely one who remembers that this was his audition song, hmm. I lurved his audition. He was good tonight but not great. Considering he got the pimp spot, I think he’ll most possible make it into the top 12.

WHAT A SHOW, guys! Everyone was good, besides Luke merely he doesn’t really count anyways. David H. really absences to make the top 12 but he’s beautiful many competing opposition Luke and Chikezie; Luke has reverse psychology on his side (as well as looking like a busted Hugh Jackman) and Chikezie got the pimp smudge, so where does namely leave him? Kinda lost in the drag. I think Danny could be secure, but who knows actually?
Let’s see if the girls can top that!
